в общем виде как-то так:
list-style:none; background-image:url(...); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:0 .5em; padding-left:[ширина рисунка и еще чуть-чуть]px;
почему не list-style-image? потому-что с list-style-image кроссбраузерно и точно позиционировать рисунок в настоящее время крайне сложно.
